At 800 metres above Lake Maggiore, just a few minutes from the Swiss border, there are three villages to fall in love with: Trarego, Cheglio and Viggiona. The municipality, which was unified at the end of the 1920s, is made up of these three villages of rural origin immersed in greenery on the slopes of Monte Carza (1,116 m above sea level) from which there is an enviable panorama of Lake Maggiore. The basin where the three villages are located is known as the ‘Conca Verde’. The municipality belongs to the province of Verbano Cusio Ossola and is 19 km from the city of Verbania. It has about 400 inhabitants and the territory lies between 300 and 1,814 metres above sea level.
